It's all eyes open now and the legs are starting to work properly as well. if you have been watching the webcam you will have seen that over the last few day's the pups have been much more active and can really get about the box now. they only have to catch a glimpse of Maggie as she walks past or pops her head in to check them and they will start shouting for her.

Maggie's pups are now just over one week old. They are growing and changing each day. Already they know the smell of my hands and settle quickly when I hold them, maggie is being a wonderful (as ever) mummy and spending most of her day with them letting them suckle or just curled around them as they sleep. Over the next few days she will start leaving them more and sleeping in her basket as they are becoming more able to control their own body temps. Maggs was a little ill last week, but she has recovered well and the Pups are growing nice and plump. I have taken some more close up of the babes (some are below the rest are on the puppy photos page) and will do more at the weekend as they will be starting to open their eyes soon. |

Not really much I can say other than we lost a baby today. I tried everything I could this morning to keep her with us but she wasn't strong enough to fight with me, and past away just a little while ago.
Maggie is fine, she doesn't seem to have noticed one is missing (as i have had the little one out of the nest with me all morning). The other pups are all doing well. theya e feeding and gaining nice amounts of weight. Sadly losing a pup is all part of breeding, however it's not a part I like or ever get used to. I'm more than a little sad at the moment so am going off for a cuddle with Gracie to hopefully cheer me up a little after all I have seven other little angels that need me :) The little girl we lost was the one wearing the yellow collar, she didn't have a home yet.
