It hardly seems possible that we had the pups a week ago. Where has this this week go? Maggie is being an amazing mummy, but she is tired.... then who wouldn't be raising eight little babies? She is so good with them, gentle but a lioness if one of the other dogs even so much as looks in the kitchen. She has started to come out of the nest a little bit more now, this is allowing her some down time that she sorely needs. Molly is just waiting for that moment when Maggie lets her get in there and babysit, but i think she might just have to wait a little longer as Maggie is not into sharing at the moment.

I have been handling and weighing the pups daily and will continue to do so for another week (weighing then decreases to weekly, Handling increases to cuddles), The pups are all gaining good amounts of weight each day most days there is an ave. weight gain of about 30gr. to keep up with this demand of milk Maggie is eating four good meals a day, this is making her very happy as maggot loves her food :)
