The pups are four days old today and they are growing at a wonderful rate. Maggie-Mae is still reluctant to leave the nest for any more than food or a toilet break. the rest of our pack (boys excluded) are very interested in whats happening in the kitchen and are eagerly awaiting the day when Maggie wants a babysitter. Molly our supernan will probably be the first allowed in the kitchen and the nest by Maggie-Mae.

You might notice this morning that not all the pups are wearing colours now. I have noticed over the last few days that the pup without a colour on (the black and tan female) is gaining more weight than the other pups. So I'm just trying something out to see if the collars are hindering the pups movements and thus making it harder to feed. I have retained the colours on four of the golden boys purely so i can tell them apart. But if the collars prove a problem I will possibly have to return to an old fashion method of patch shaving, until they are a few weeks old and then I can return to using the collars.
Talking about weight gaining this litter are really piling on the grams. with Maggie rarely out of the box they seem to feed all the time :) and even with the collar issue they are all doing really well. Maggie-Mae is doing well and seems very happy with her brood. she sits proudly looking about as she feeds them and is doing a wonderful job keeping them all scrummy and clean.
