22 acres of gardens, some 10,000 plants, trees and shrubs, including rare and exotic species.
Recommended by Travis and Paige as a “pretty” place to go. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome. The tea rooms are pricey but entry is free (car park prices are reasonable) Undercliff Drive Ventnor PO38 1UL TEL: 01983 855397 Website Updated: Our Trip to Ventnor Botanical Gardens on 28 June 2008Trav's been going on about Ventnor Botanical Gardens since I moved over here but until today we had never been together. As the weather was so nice today we decided that "a day together" was needed (every so often we leave the dogs and spend the day as humans NOT dog owners). We drove out along the coastal road and just before we reached Bonchurch I noticed all the boats taking part in the round the Island race.
We had to stop and take a few piccy's as they looked so pretty.
There were a few people who had also stopped to watch the boats and take photos many of them families who were holidaying here on the island and being the caring guy Trav is, he offered to take a group photo of a family who were struggling with the Autotimer on their camera. However Trav isn't always "all there"! A photographer at heart he will do anything for the perfect shot - even if that involves standing in a narrow road with speeding coaches heading towards your turned back! GET OUT OF THE ROAD TRAV!!!!!!!!! So when this family get the holiday photos printed their face's will be those of shock not nice smiles on a sunny day! ;) Thankfully Trav got out of the road just in time and drove us safely on to Ventnor botanical Gardens. We had a lovely picnic lunch sat in the sunshine , doing a little people watching as we enjoyed our sandwiches and strawberrys.

I just love this swirly herb garden
These flowers smelt like chocolate mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........
