I just realised this afternoon that I haven't ever blogged about our lovely old ginger tom Vinnie. Vinnie joined our family as a kitten back in 1998 I think he was about 5 maybe 6 weeks old when we found him in a sack in the the middle of a bramble bush. I can't take the credit for finding him really, my old Sprocker Spaniel Jasper was the one who did that, but my sister and I stayed up all that night and a few after that nursing the two kittens (there were five) that survived. My Sister took the female and named her Moran and I kept the male....... Thus Vinnie became part of the DrackettCase family. Vinnie will be ten this year and is the most loving kitt you could every want. He's never caused us a day's worry, and other than having a "snip..snip" at the vets she's never cost me a penny in vets bills. He has however earned the nic-name "scratchy cat" as he has a terrible habit of grabbing the nearest piece of flesh (often a face) when he is picked up, it makes him very hard to put down as normally he is hanging off your lip or your nose, the lesson learned from this is........ don't pick up the cat!!!!! He'll move in his own time. This face is his "I want" face! normally food is required but sometimes just a fussin' will do. Vinnie is totally bomb proof when it comes to the dogs, he keeps them in line and takes no messing from any of them. Maggie gets the odd swipe across the face if she tries any funny business, but the puppies well they can do anything, it's not unusual to find Vinnie curled up alseep in a basket with a litter of pups snoring away next to him.
