Hello Paige & co,
What a lovely day you have had for 'cockers on the beach', I am just sorry that we could not be there with you all, but hopefully we will be the next time.
The reason being, that just over 3 weeks ago, Jenny had Poppy spayed, and is now back to normal, not that it made much difference to her anyway, they had to take her stitches out before time, as they were starting to tear into the skin, she just wouldn't keep quiet or still!!!!! Too nosy I guess.
Anyway, on Wednesday of this week, we took Megan to get done, collecting her pm and bringing her back home. She is totally different to Poppy, far more laid back, so rested. Her stitches were done internally, so that you couldn't see any of them, just a line where she had been cut.
We had to take her Friday Morning to be checked, and saw the vet, who noticed that about 1cm at the start of the wound had split a bit, so gave us antibiotics and a wash to keep the area clean, and said to keep any eye on it, which we did. She just lay about all day on her bed, Poor Megan, it must have been very painful for her. We then brought her back home, with a dressing on it. We then changed in Yesterday, as it was leaking, but at least holding together. She was terrified of the 'head gear' so got one of Emily's old vests, put it over her head, and cut two holes for her back legs, which stopped her getting any where near the wound, not that she had touched it much anyway. She looked quite 'cute' in her pink 'vest'.
She has just laid about again these past two days, but is at least eating and drinking. We feel so very sorry for her, and annoyed that this should have happened at all. It certainly wasn't her doing that caused it.
Thankfully she is a lot livelier today, but still waits for George to carry her into the garden, I think she is frightened that it is going to hurt her, but at least its giving the wound a chance to heal. We have to take her again tomorrow for a check to see how it is.
Its just a good job this way of stitching wasn't done on Poppy, as she doesn't keep still, I just dread to think of what she would have been like!!!

Anyway, hopefully, all will be well in a couple of days time, but its been a very worrying 5 days for us.
Hope you and all of your 'family' as doing ok, bye for now, Jeanette and George, and Megan xx

Hi Paige, Megan saw this morning, and is pleased with the way she is healing, took a couple of staples out, but decided to leave the top ones in until Friday, when he will take them out, hopefully!!!
He also thought the 'vest' was a good idea, much better than the huge thing around her neck eh!!! At least she could eat and drink wearing a vest.
She is back to playing with Poppy now, so know she feels better. Will send you a nicer picture of her once ok again.
Will give her a 'poggle' from you.
Bye for now Jeanette Georg and Megan x
