Hi Paige
Just wanted to give you an update on Bessie's progress. She has settled down wonderfully and her character is unique! I have never known such a loving and gentle puppy who is so willing to please. She is all but house trained now, walks beautifully on the lead and has learnt some tricks such as giving a paw and rolling over on command! It's amazing how easy she can learn when there is a treat at the end of it!
Barney has accepted her now and the 2 of them enjoy a romp around the house or garden frequently! She is definitely trying to be top dog with him and unfortunately for him, he often looses chunks of fur as she swings off his coat! He responds by trying to sit on her! When my daughter visited with her cocker puppy recently, Barney became very protective of Bessie when the 2 pups were play fighting and it was very funny to watch him trying to separate them. They took no notice and just carried on their game of rough and tumble around him, with him looking like an overly concerned parent! I think any playful aggression that she may have displayed with humans is completely focused on poor old Barney. I think secretly he quite enjoys the attention she gives him!
Bessie is a wonderful addition to our family and we couldn't imaging our house without her in it now.
I hope everything is well with your brood. We're looking forward to seeing you at the Cockers on the Beach in October
Best regards
Louise
