Hi Paige

It was really good to catch up with you and Travis today and all the dogs of course!

Well, what can I say, another perfect DrackettCase Cocker! You would think little Barney had been here forever, he is such a little character - but I probably don't need to tell you that. He travelled perfectly in the car, slept most of the way, until I woke him to take him for a "tinkle" at Sutton Scotney services with Chelsey and Crumble - and he did oblige! He walked very well on the lead, and even found a pine cone to play with! Since we have been home, he has eaten his dinner, no problem and has already won Crumbles heart, they have been playing in the back garden non stop! It was only when we had our dinner we had to drag them both in and then the games did continue indoors for a little while! But to be honest, they are all completely knackered now, as are Barry and I!! He unfortunately did do a little tinkie in the kitchen, but I think that was only because he had time to think about it, having finished running around with Crumble! But then we put him in the back yard and he did a poo - which was great!! So he got much praise and a biscuit.

Fingers crossed we have now settled down for the evening, Chelsey is on the sofa with Barry, Crumble down the side (of the sofa) and Barney is curled up next to me on the sofa - bliss!! I think Chelsey may take a little longer to win over, but I seem to remember it taking a week or so with Crumble, but she just gives him a bit of a growl when he invades her space and he leaves her alone. But I suppose the have to make their own boundaries etc, that is something we can't do for them!

He is such a bouncy little fella, and to be honest I don't think he gives a damn whether they like him at the moment or not, he is here and he is here to stay, so they better deal with it! Crumble has of course gone with it, as I thought he would, but as I say, Chelsey may take a little more time!

Thanks again for a perfect little puppy, who I think is gonna be just fine! We love him to death already - I knew it wouldn't take long - and to top it all, his tail never stops wagging - HE IS GORGEOUS!!

I will be in touch soon.
Nikki, Barry, Chelsey, Crumble and Barney xxxx

PS - Barney sends lots of love to you all - especially Bella, he misses her loads :)

One week on, he has settled in very well. Although, we have had a bit of a problem with Crumble today, which really surprised us, as he has snapped at him a couple of times, which really upset me, to the extent that I cried, coz I don't want my little Crumble feeling shut out in anyway - if only he could understand that having Barney doesn't change the way we feel about him at all - but I just hope it is a little blip - I think he may be a little overtired, as he (as have all of them) had quite a busy week / weekend and obviously they are all having to get used to each other. Although Chelsey now seems to be taking it in her stride, but then she has done it all before! Crumble is at the stage where he wants to play but on his terms!

Barney had a good day yesterday with lots of new adventures. We went for our first walk yesterday morning around the river in Chippenham and he did really well - we had him off the lead and all he wanted was to follow Crumble (his idol!). But he only seems to have one pace at the moment and that is full speed ahead! But Barry and I have taken it in turns to carry him some of the way as we don't want him overdoing it - but he does look sooooooooo cute when he runs!

He also found yesterday that he can climb the stairs so that is now all he wants to do - and yesterday afternoon he discovered he could come down too!!! He has this great game where you try and get him down the stairs and as you go to pick him up he shoots into the bedroom, as if to say "catch me if you can!" I have to admit, we are guilty of the fact that he sleeps in the bedroom with the rest of us, and I did expect to have a bit of crying on the first night, but we didn't hear a peep out of him - and the same last night, so he really is doing well. We have had a couple of little accidents in the house, but only coz I wasn't quite quick enough! But if the back door is open and he needs to go, he is out there like a shot doing it in all the right places! As I say, I hope the thing with Crumble is just a little blip and that they are all getting on together very soon.

Thanks again for another perfect puppy - we love him so much already - he really is as soft as mud!!

Take Care .
Nikki x
