Just thought you’d like a catch up on how Poppy has been settling in. She travelled well in the car and the ferry and is now finding her feet but her first week with us she was really missing her litter mates, especially BeeBee. Now and again she takes over Ruby’s bed and Ruby takes refuge in the crate but they are happy sharing the bed.

Poppy has really found her vocal chords too – she is all mouth and no trousers really – she is being really bossy with Ruby in play and Ruby has taken it all with a pinch of salt, just placing her large paw on her head when she wants a break. She has learned how to climb the stairs but not how to get back down resulting in lots of whimpers!

We are off to puppy socialisation class on Thursday so this will enable Ruby to have some peace and quiet for an hour or so. I don’t think she knows what has hit her but Poppy follows her everywhere and I am sure they will be great mates if the last two weeks are anything to go by.

one week on
Thought you'd like an update on how Poppy is doing. She has taken quite a while to settle in but is now very bossy with Ruby who takes it all in her stride. We give her some time out to give her some space and this gives me time to spend with Poppy on her own. We have now attended a couple of socialisation classes which she loves and yesterday she had a fellow black cocker, 14 weeks old to play with. At the moment she is snoring away cuddled up with Ruby in her bed (Ruby's that is!!) having had her breakfast.

Last Saturday she amazed us all as a surprise party was organised for me as we had arranged to visit with our son to get Poppy used to different places. There were 38 people and she wasn't phased at all. Very impressed.

Love Ruby-Tuesday and Poppy Red
